Y'all not gunna believe what I saw today

Unfortunately I have no pics but WHICH TOTALLY SUCKS AND MAKES ME WANT TO BRING MY DIGI CAM EVERYWHERE I GO, I was driving with my mom through Montvale, NJ (town next to where I live) and a freakin' bright metallic silver Mercedes McLaren SLR makes a right turn and goes the opposite way that I was going. It was soo nice, and I couldn't believe my own eyes. The thing is one wide car, and it had a nice purr coming out of the exhaust. WOW. TO this moment from when I saw it about 7 hours ago, I still can't believe I saw it. It turned in to the local Mobil station and I was like HOLY SHIT! I'm sorry if this was in the wrong board but I was just so thrilled, and still am and just needed to tell everyone.

I was just thinking about it, that it probably won't be the last that I see of some SLRs up here, because my house isn't far from the business districts where the main corporate offices and headquarters for both Mercedes and BMW of North America are. Only about 5 minutes from my house.

They didnt make any of those in silver, they were only made in black, therefore its totally impossible that you saw it and you are making that up. this forum isnt for BS like that. j/k im b.s.ing right now.. Thats awesome, I wish I saw one.

Re: Y'all not gunna believe what I saw today

THe other day, (now I'm thinking i shoulda asked for a camera celly for xmas) i was on route 4, the second most popular, and secondary main route from New Jersey to NYC other than I-80. I was heading west after leaving a cybercafe with my friend and i was quizing my best friend to see if he knew cars as well as I did in the night from the tailights and headlights. I see the taillights of a 745 coming up. I ask my friend "name that sicko in front of us" (it was rather 6 car distances away) and my friends dad sped up to catch it, my friend said Mazda and i cracked up and said "WRONG, BMW 745" and continued laughing when my friends dad (who was driving) said stretch. I immediately stopped laughing and looked again. In the right lane, with us changing and passing on the left, was a freaking E65 BMW 745i stretch. I COULD NOT BELIEVE MY EYES AGAIN. SNOW WHITE, LED RIMMED tinted WINDOWS, iDrive, CHROME RIMs, THE WHOL SHE_BANG! I HAVE NEVER SEEN ONE IN MY ENTIER LIFE OTHER THAN THAT ONE. I WAS SO AMAZED. I THOUGHT BMW made the 745 stretch a concept, and not a real thing, unless the car was total custom. IT WAS AWESOME. I HaTE HAVING NO CAMERAS OR PICS !!! ARGH!

I swear to all of you on my dead relatives graves, it was purely a 745i stretch limosine, not just a 745Li.

Re: Y'all not gunna believe what I saw today

I see some crazy stuff like that because I travel up and down I-95 for two hours daily. Especially when Turkey Rod Run comes around in Florida along with Bike week. I've seen Ferraris, Aston Martins, vipers but I think I would wet my pants if I saw a SLR
The SLR is an unbelievable find I think I would have to follow though!

wow. i live in the rich section of the motor city (im not a rich spoiled brat either, i worked 60 hrs a week all last summer for my camaro). anyways; oakland county is the 3rd richest county in america. take that and all the discounts the UAW workers get, and you have ALOT of brand new and expensive cars. my girlfriend lives near me, and almost whenever we go to coffee, we see this cherry red viper thats always rolling around downtown rochester. (suburb city near detroit). i work in an auto shop too. i see a fair amount of corvettes and z06's. the CTS-V was in my shop seriously like 1 month after they released them. theres a really rich mall by where i live called somerset mall. its right in the heart of rich-peopleville. i've seen like 3 lambo's and one ferrari crusing in there. now that i saw the mclaren, i think i may've seen one around there. theres one guy who lives by a coney island-like restaurant that always holds car shows in the summer. this guy has a couple classic camaros and a TA and a gto. respectable unto itself. then you see the damn henessy viper in the back of the garage. dear lord that thing's fast. oh, i saw a bently arnage earlier this year after taking my ACT test. wound up following the guy for like 20 minutes taking pictures. LOLOL he was pissed! i dont wanna say that everyone has a real expensive car around here, cuz there are plenty of people driving 89 junkers, im just saying that if you keep your eyes open, you see some nice rides..... OH WAIT. i completely forgot! the woodward dream cruise. ok picture this: police block off like 10 miles of woodward for the biggest intentional traffic jam ever! now i know where i saw that mcLaren. it was there. i've seen most every sports car there. saleen s7, aston martins, bently's, lambo, ferrari, you name it. plus all the guys with the 70 gto judge's that rumble down the street. its the sweetest thing ever. and everyone else sits on the median or the sides of the road and bbq's and gets drunk. heh, christmas time for motorheads....

Re: Y'all not gunna believe what I saw today

I also live in a rather... umm... 'expensive' town. In the fall/winter it rains alot, so every time there is a warm, sunny saturday you'll see the affluent car nuts taking their garage queens for a cruise. I remember one particular saturday in which I saw 3 shelby cobras and several other exotic roadsters.

Re: Y'all not gunna believe what I saw today

I'm curious if that was Mr. Penske. I know he owns the Ferrari/Maserati dealer but he could own anything! There was a Lamborghini Gallardo parked outside the dealer the one day I was there. You be surprized what's out there. Maybachs, Lambos, Aston Martins...There all over the place you just never know what's gonna turn up. There's a rich dude over here who's got a Ferrari Testerossa and his buddies either bring there Bentley's or Aston Martin's and where I'm at in NJ is a little old people town!
