Boost control solinoid

Where Is The Boost Control Solinoid Located And What Would It Do Ir Romoved?

I thought on the 1Gs it was on the stock airbox. I can't be sure though, I dont think I've ever seen a stock 1g in person On the 2g its on the passenger side framerail, somewhat under and behind the airbox area.

Its how the ECU controls boost. Follow the WG vac lines, should lead right to it. Some poeple remove it so they can run an aftermarket boost control solenoid. If you just remove it, you end up with less boost pressure, just the WG spring pressure. On teh 2g, there is a restrictor in the solenoid that can be removed to add 1 or 2 psi.
