Computer beeping....odd

Okay my computer is going crazy now. About 2 weeks ago i finally hooked my computer up after moving back home. The first time i turned it on there was a horrible clicking sound, obvious sign of the harddrive starting to fail. It had done it in the past one or two prior times that i can remember but made the clicking for a few seconds and stopped those times. Which brings me to today. I just turned it on and it started making this annoying beeping sound. Probably around every second of so. Does anyone have any wild guess as to what's going on? This is driving me mad.

Everything works fine though, no slow downs or other gliches, other than my video card still doing stupid stuff that i have never gotten to the bottom of. Any thoughts at all would be great.

It's just a constant beep, pretty much as its loading up and just continues endlessly. But i turned the computer on today and it didn't happen. Who knows, very bizarre.

Consult your m/b user manual. Could be dodgy RAM, failing hard drive, incorrectly configured IDE cables, power or pretty much anything depending on your make and model.

Did you find out what the problem was? The manual often tells you how many beeps correspond with which fault.

Sometimes it's as simple as a loose circuit board of some sort. Make sure all the RAM and PCI/AGP cards are pushed in all the way and that there's no loose IDE/SATA or power plugs anywhere.
