wild pigs

My hillbilly neighbor caught 2 wild pigs not too long ago. He has them pinned in his front yard. Well the first few days were ok. Then they started keeping me up all night, squilling and shit. Now the femail has gon into heat. She is attracting some huge males to the neighborhood. These things are dangerous. They have these huge tusks and are verry agressive. Well the other morning, I was walking my daughter to the car so I could take her to school. I here something, I look in that direction and there is this huge male hog in the yard. It scared the hell out of me. That thing was snorting and shit. I get my girl in the car asap, and take her to school. That night there was like 4 of them things fighting right under my bedroom window. Yesterday when I was taking my girl to school another one ran out in front of me like 200 ft from my home. I told my neighbor and he dosent care. I was wanderin is it illegal to keep a wild animal??? Is there anything I might be able to do about this. I have 2 ypoung kids that love to play outside, and there are 3 other young boys in the neighbor hood also. These pigs attack cars and anything that moves. It is not something I want around my kids... Sorry I just had to bitch to someone....

Re: wild pigs

Couldn't hurt to call the cops and find out. If that doesn't work just kill the damn things.

Re: wild pigs

The steps that I would take:

1) What kind of neighborhood do you live in? What kind of houses? I'd be willing to bet the HOA (Homeowner's Association) wouldn't condone wild boars locked in somebody's front yard. It could be against some meighborhood ordinances as well. Look into it and maybe give the HOA a call.

2) Call Animal Control and tell them about the situation. And call them EVERY TIME you see a loose one. The more you drag them out there, the more incintive it is to get them to pass the problem along. If they keep having to come out and catch big, dangerous, wild pigs and risk their lives, I'd be willing to bet they'll be pretty quick to get the city to do something about it.

3) I would call the police. That's their jobs to come out and deal with it. And I would keep calling. Call the police and say this is ridiculous and unsanitary and just dangerous. This is what the police is good for and why you're paying their salaries. Get a little of your money's worth.

And I'm not kidding. I would be quick to buy a 9 millimeter and even quicker to pull the trigger at a boar on my property. And keep shooting them when they come onto your property. You can't shoot them off of your property (in fact you can't really shoot them ON your property, but they ARE putting you and your children in danger. So blast away. Just be careful.

The nearist animal control is in Dallas area, I live 2 and a half hours from there. They dont come out here..

The police says they cand do a thing till someone gets hurt.. Kinda sucks

Re: wild pigs

Wherever you go to buy a gun, can give you all the information you need: How to register it, tips on usage, where to go to target practice, where to go for better training and usage. Don't be afraid to ask.

Being surrounded by government woods, I'm surprised you don't already have one.

Get a rifle. Easier to shoot, more accurate, although not easy to conceal, but who cares.

If you are going to be shooting those Boars, you need to get a high powered rifle or a large bore handgun. They have a kinda of bullet proof vest on if you will. A full grown male will have a 3" thick chunk of gristle on their chest. You either have to shoot it in the side behind the front leg or in the chest with a gun with a lot of ass behind it. Good luck.

Re: wild pigs

Have a couple of people with you with guns, and if it doesnt die the first shot, keep shooting. You wont get in trouble for this if they are causing obvious danger
