high boost on 420a motor

is it possible to boost between 15-20 on the 420a aluminum block with fairly built internals? am thinking sleeves, pistons and rods and also maybe valve springs and retainers. can that aluminum block handle the boost even with all the mods?

I don't know about the 420a, but I know my honda friends ran insane amounts of boost when they sleeved their aluminum blocks. I'd say 15-20 is fine with a built motor.

i'd say with the right charged air temp, timing, AFR, cometic head gasket you should have no problem pumping 15-20psi on a built short block.

Re: high boost on 420a motor

i'm sure you could run more than that if you do all of that work to it. sleeves, pistons, rods, crank, valves, springs, retainers. you can run all the boost you want then.

I personally dont know a lot about how a turbo engine works and all that, but my friend Shawn has a 420a in his Neon and when he gets his new turbo, he said he'll be runnin around 22 psi. Also, one of my other friends with a 420a in a 99 RS was running at 20 psi. Both cars have built engines about like what you were saying.
