Well i took off my headlight off my 04 cavalier to replace the bulb. The only problem was that dirt got inside i dont know how and the only i can clean it is if i take off the clear plastic cover. Does any1 know how to do this? i tried taking it off but it just wont come off i think its stuck together with glue. any information will be helpful. thanks.

Re: Headlight Removal Help
If you were smart you'd just find a different way of cleaning it. Maybe pop that bay boy off, remove all bulbs and such, and fill it up with some nice clean distilled water.
However, if you're hell bent on getting that headlight apart, it requires sticking it in an oven for a bit because it is, in fact, glued together.

Just keep rinsing the thing till the material comes out. Sure it might require more effort; but popping it in the oven could be the death of the shell; if you aren't careful about it.
Try using a good dishwashing liquid to clean it, rinse it very thoroughly, and then give it a few hours in the sun to evaporate any water remaining. Reinstall, making sure any seals and gaskets are clean and tidy, to prevent incursion of more water. |
