Paid off the mortgage

Just sent out the payoff cashiers check to on the condo. Took over five years, but its nice to know that its all mine now (mine being my wife and I). This isn't the first one I've paid off, but for some reason it feels even better then the last.

Now to get serious about the Nissan Titan shopping.....

Re: Paid off the mortgage

long way away from that!good job man, i wish owned my place. i went condo shopping a few years ago, but ended up renting a house for 500/mth. i like the house better, but renting is a waste, kinda wish i bought the condo, since it went up $40000! good luck car shopping, thats my favorite hobby!

Re: Paid off the mortgage

Save up the monthly payments from the condo for like 3 months, and then you'll have a nice downpayment for the Titan.

Congrats Yogs! I know my dad was happy when the mortgage was paid off on the house. Now if he could just find a way to get rid of those damn property taxes the government just feels the need to raise every year so you have just enough money left over to buy some KY to ease the pain.

Re: Paid off the mortgage

Yogs, I'd hate to be negative.

But Nissan Titans are trash. They have terrible brakes, my buddy loved his... but now is in a Lawsuit with Nissan over his Titan. Apparently the rotors are too small/thin for the size fo the vehicle. Nissan subcontracted the brakes out to Bosche. Who it seems miscalculated the vehicle weight. They go like hell! But when you get on the brakes the heat up too quickly and start warping rotors to the point the front end shakes, and drive feels it through the steering wheel. Feels like the whole thing is rattling apart. I've ridden in the truck a hundred times, it doesn't feel safe. Now it sits at his Aunts house while he drives her Saturn around.

His truck has been in for 8 times for brake replacements. Has about 15,000 miles on it, just turned a year old. 8 sets of brakes. Now Nissan knows he's got a lawyer so they're refusing to service his truck. Neat. Nice one Nissan.

He's not the only one who's had the problems. It's a common problem with the fullsize Nissan trucks (Armadas are worse, they're heavier.)

My friend just bought an '05 Titan, no problems yet. But he claims Nissan has fixed the brake problem on the '05s. So, I asked him... what stops Nissan from putting the 'new and improved' brakes on the '04s?' He has no answer. My friend who has the problems checked the '05's brakes and he says they look exactly the same. So who knows.

Also, the Titans have a problem with the rearends. Nissan says they adressed it in the '05s with a finned diff cover for cooling. We'll see.

But, glad you've got the Condo paid off.. that's awesome! I'd hate to see ya buy a Titan and it be a problem child and cause you grief.

Good luck.

Re: Paid off the mortgage

Good Job ..

I am in a similar situtation. Paid off all my loans, credit cards and mechanics bill with my tax return. Now I have a big amount of monthly money burning a hole in my pocket. Soooo, I am replacing all the shit cabinets and tools I have in the garage that I have been living with for quite a few years now. Also, bought a new computer, larger monitor, etc. I have decided that I am going on a spending spree for the next couple of months to get all the stuff I have wanted in the past ... then I'm going start socking some serious cash in the bank !!!!

It's feels great !!! I haven't had this much free cash since I graduated from college in 1991 and was "introduced" to the "plastic money".

No more plastic in my future ... "plastic money = BAD, paper money = GOOD"
