Seat Modifications In my 96 Metro Hatchback?
I just got a 96 Metro Hatchback:
Is there a way to get the Rear Seat to fold flat backwards? -ideas: cutting the seat buying a different rear seat removing the pieces behind the existing seat, and then maybe it would fold down? Any Ideas....My other Idea is trying to place something in between the 2 front seats (reclined) to make it almost like a bed...what could i even use? I am looking for some parts too in Cleveland, Ohio I am not sure what to think about the 3 speed automatic tranny....curious to see how well i will do on MPGs. |

howdy eatdrums.
not sure what you need to do but i simply removed the rear seat and have never reinstalled it. i've carcamped from alaska to mexico for almost 300k miles. when travelling, i removed the right seat and installed a simple low platform for sleeping / storage and have a 'kitchen' in the rear hatch. i'm 6'4" and slept like a baby in there. i have a screen system for the buggy summers. when i need to haul stuff i pull a trailer. mine's a '91 and the later ones have somewhat different interiors. the automatics sacrifice performance and too many mpgs imo. |

with the bottom of the rear seat removed the seat back will fold almost flat.
