The H23 went out of production in 1996. There was never a JDM variant. Also, it is a DOHC non-VTEC motor.

Can I come over and see it? I've never heard of a non-US H23, nevermind a VTEC H23.

Sweet, i could have sworn thats what it was. do you know anywhere in the states where i can get one with no miles on it though? i really want the 23 but i know from japan its cost $3200 w/ shipping. but if i can find one in the states hopefully it will be lower. and i also need a 5 speed transmission with it because im getting the trans swap also.

hmm.. very interesting. looks alot like th f20b motor with that blue cover.

dont know where u gonna finda motor w/o miles especially a h23 vtec since there are no cars that came with that engine here in the states. If that really is a h23 vtec then the block should be a regular h23 non vtec block right??? and man honda sell new blocks but they are liek 3 grand.

Yeah smithy you can come and see it

anyway, I'm sure you'll see it this summer. Maybe we'll go to some Toronto Accord club meets. And you guys should come to Montreal

This is indeed the H23A VTEC. Comes from a Honda Accord SiR Wagon in Japan.

I live in Montreal! When are your meets?

That'd be awesome if the Montreal club came to a few TAC meets... Maybe we can forge a big Eastern Canadian Accord Club

it could be a hybrid block, like a CR-VTEC or LS-VTEC sort of thing

cool you're in montreal

I'll post something when we hold the next meet. I'm meeting sometimes with 1 or 2 people, nothing big tough. You can come to the Club Accord Quebec Forum if you know a bit of french. (post in english on there, that doesn't matter)

I'm one of the moderators there too

For general info, that engine came ONLY with an auto tranny. The wiring harness is different too so you have to use the one that comes with it and hack it. The ECU is different from a H22A too. However, the Accord tranny will bolt up with no problem.
