'Scuse me govna...

I got a quick question, I have a 1997 Blazer LS, and the other day, some asshole in a 2001 Dodge Neon (YES A F**KING DODGE NEON, NOT THE RT, JUST A REGULAR F**KING NEON) tried to race me. This rice rocket wanna be didn't know what he had coming to him. We were on the freeway, (I-5) I hit 60-70 and he was on my tail, I hit 80, I was leaving him behind, I hit 90, oh boy, he was really way behind, and very pissed, and then, I hit 97 and the governer kicked in. WHAT BULLSHIT!! does anyone else's governer kick in at a higher speed? if so, did you modify it (Remove the governer) or was it made to go off at a higher speed? I think I need to remove the governer, but seeing as that's illegal, I don't think support on this forum will be granted.

There are programmers you can get. however. being that it is illegal to go those speeds and i know how horribly my truck handles at those speeds, and that my tires are not rated for anywhere near that. Just not a good idea. Not worth the money only to loose control and wreck your truck, and possibly your license.

I have a 98LT, I have hit well over 100mph and nothing, when I did it I had on street tires not the truck tires I have now. But I agree, it is pretty dumb and not safe. But to each their own. Good luck

Forgive me for sounding preachy, but the bigger problem with racing on the highway or other public roads is that people (usually other motorists who aren't trying to play "who's the man") get hurt, paralyzed for life & often killed when someone looses control & causes a wreck.

I'd hate to be the one who killed someone's child & had to face vehicular manslaughter charges...or the parents.

I know a kid right now-22 years old-who got involved in something like that...now he's driving an electric wheelchair with his chin. Real cool.

I wish ya luck!

1.) STREET Racing is dumb, TAKE IT TO THE TRACK.

2.) Buy a sprts car, your Blazer is NOT a drag machine nor is it intended to go over 97mph.

3.) You need to grow up. If some idiot wants to race you, point and laugh at him.

It will really piss him off.

Immaturity happens to all of us. No matter how mature someone is, they were immature at one point. Regardless, I don't like a governer on my car, simply because, I don't like someone telling me how my engine should run, especially the government. I don't condone racing, and I don't ever do it, but there are times when people will get on your nerves, and you do stupid things. I wasn't trying to race him, but I didn't want to have him pass me up. Plus, that was the first time I've ever gone that fast in my blazer. It was a rush, seeing it go that fast. I don't ever put it past 85mph. I ride it at 75 on the freeway, and if I need to for some reason, the most is 85.

I don't want to kill myself or anyone else, if that's what your thinking. I'm not saying I did the right thing by racing him, and i know it was a dumb thing to do. But no one got hurt, and I learned that
1) the blazer has a governer at 97
2) the handling is pretty shitty going that speed
3) the engine can handle some high RPMS when it has too.

So don't hate me for fucking up this 1 time.
