Peugeot 505stx - air filter questions

Hi, I got a peug 505 stx 1989 when i tried to change the air filter I found out it was square and the one i had ordered is a cylinder (it's the origional)??? does anybody have any idea what i can do? I can't find that square filter anywhere Thanks Lazaro
