power(or lack thereof)
So I'm driving on the highway, and decide to floor my car. I reach about 4500 rpm's in 3rd gear when my car suddenly loses power. Its still on and running, it just won't go over 4500 rpms. I get off to the access road, and my car seems to be acting fine. So I try it another time, and once again my car won't go over 4500 rpms. Any ideas? I think it might have something to do with my battery, but I'm not certain. I was listening to music and when it was having problems, my cd player would die. I've noticed that my battery is a little low, but I didn't think that would have anything to do with the way that my car drove. Help?

Re: power(or lack thereof)
Any problems with lights or anything. Also how does it run with your stereo off? Might be your alternator starting to go.

Re: power(or lack thereof)
Yeah, the lights dim as the voltage goes steadily downward.
It stopped running tonight. I had to push it into an HEB parking lot to try to fix it. It took me two hours(1 hour without tools) to figure out that it wasn't my battery. Igovert was right, its the alternator. Just by dumb luck I happened to run into a guy who worked on my car with its previous owner, and he said that that was the one thing that they didn't fix. So it'll be towed to a shop tomorrow. And will end up being sold within the next couple of months so I can get my VR-4. At least I'll have two turbo's...

Re: power(or lack thereof)
Damn...forgot to check the "click click start" thread before making my own problem thread on here. That should fix the problem, and my car has all the symptoms if I'm reading the thread correctly.
Thanks for the help though Igovert. I think I'll replace the alternator anyways just to keep on the safe side.

Re: Re: power(or lack thereof)
Nah it is most likely your altenator. The click click no start is from fzaulty wiring. If your battery is dead from lack of charging then it will also go click click.
Voltage can affect performance more than you think.
