1994 celica st204 Help

help please my knock sensor is showing open or short circut im wonder if some can help me i would like to know with the knock sensor thanks it makes my engine light come on and a result of that the car looses alot of power

Dont really understand your question, the knock sensor is a small but ver sensative microphone located behind cylinder 3 which listens out for pre detination of the petrol in your engine, they dont last forever and can go wrong, you`ll need either a 22mm or 24mm deep socket to remove it, and double jointed wrists. They are a common problem in Celicas and when faulty or detecting pre-detination, will run the car in a safe mode by retarding the timing.

Check the sensor wire before you replace the sensor. The wires/connectors are easily damaged.

hi guys,
I pulled the sensor out and cleaned it , fixed the wires up a bit. Now Its been 5 days and the light hasn't come on.
