well i'm looking on progressive.com at there insurance quotes for my VR4 the absolute minimun was 253$ a month which if u take a loan here u have to get full coverage. So i'm like shit i won't be able to make taht money. Well then mom is like see how much a 91 vette would be for me.I forgot to change to your profile instead of mine but to my eyes i see a 91vette under my name would be cheaper then a 95 VR4 i'm like what?? then i'm ok check and see how much my friends mustang would be on my name it was more expensive then the VR4 even a 6 cylinder version was. So whats up with progressives site does this seem right to you all?? I"m calling local inusurances tommrow.

Also just checked and Stealth RT/TT is almost 10$ cheaper. And i could make the payments on minium but at the end of the month between the car payment and insurance i'd be absolutly broke.

Well i went to my local insurance today for full coverage which is required if u get a bank loan. 3000+ every 6 monthes. Ok there goes my left nut. Btw that quote was under mom and dads name not mine. So can sombody tell me why my name on a 2001 ford focus *with the z-tech engine* is less expensive then me on a 94 VR4.* i know one is considered i high end sport car and the other a compact or sport compact but the year differnce usally is a hug differnce. So i'm going to try progressive under dads stuff later and see what i get.

Each vehicle has a "symbol". This symbol determines how expensive the insurance is going to be on the vehicle. The symbol goes from 1-9, and then A-Z. The closer to 1, the less expensive the vehicle. The closer to Z, the more expensive. VR4's have a symbol "S". Not many other vehicles have a vehicle closer to Z. Most vehicles are are going to see in the first 10 digits of the alphabet. So almost always, the VR4 is going to cost more than the other cars.

The Mustang's symbol is not closer to Z then the VR4, but the reason why it's more expensive, is because it's a popular car, and MANY young people have those cars and MANY young people wreck them.

i know they are a world of differnce. 6 cylinder twin turbo,6speed,high end japanes sport car. To american sedan with sorta sporty 4 cylinder. But according to our insurance the higher year rating should put them closer together then what they are. As for my location its in KY and i don't mean a big city either alittle town. Dad is calling a few places tommrow.
