Not sure where to post this. SR swap
I own a 91 civic 4 door right now and i plan on buying a 90's Nissan hardbody and swapping an SR20DET into it from an S13. I didnt know where to post this because the older pickups forum is dead, theres no hardbody forum and the frontier forum is mostly new frontiers. But since it involves a 240 engine i decided to post here. I have already priced the full swap and am currently looking for a hardbody to buy but how difficult is it to swap that engine into the trucks that have the KA24 in them? WOuld it be the same as swapping it into a 240 since it has the same engine? Or would i need different mounts and all?

. Yes, it should fit in there just fine. I'm not too sure about the mounts, those may need to be custom made. Who ever you plan to have install the SR engine ask him about the the mounts as he would be better help than I would |

i dont think it would be to hard it seem like it would work about the same way a sr in a 240 would be . i just have to ask why do u want to do this? just to be different?

OK guys removed the off topic posts...
Let's try to keep it as on topic as we can please, a little off topic is ok but hijacking the whole thread is another thing.

Re: Not sure where to post this. SR swap
well i want a lowrider truck and i want to drift so this way i have the best of both worlds. And i wont be payin anyuone to swap it for me. Itll be me and my friends swappin it. 4 of my friends have experience in engine swaps with Hondas and have done transmissions in all sorts of cars. My friend John did a GSR swap into an EG hatch in 4 hours which involved taking the single cam out of that car and the gsr out of another and bolted up and running complete. I also wanna do a Hub swap for 240 hubs and rear end. the hardbodys have 6 lugs but id rather have 5 for wheel assortment and the brakes and all for more performance. Plus the 240 rear end should be better geared than the truck since its meant for hauling.
Sorry i didnt get to see the off topic posts of people flaming. I dont get online much lately.

well i want to do s13 hubs because i can get them for really cheap around here or even a full car for about 250$. I should be able to figure out a way to just swap em over. But thats not fully needed because its mainly for the 5 lugs. My main concern is getting the sr20det in and running which ive heard is an easy swap but i dont have any actual info on it. But it should be exactly the same as swapping into a 240sx. Check out this company they have some good prices compared to other places ive seen.
http://japandomesticmotor.com/ ill be gettin the s13 swap for $1650 if i get it. I do want to get the truck even if i dont do this swap, but i really want to.

Good luck with the swap, btw, the only 240SX to come with 5 lug is the S14 SE, all others have 4 lug.

Re: Not sure where to post this. SR swap
i know this is kinda an old thread but its still my thread so o well, alright i found an 89 hardbody that has a Z24 is it which is supposedly alot like the KA24 except it has 8 sparkplugs instead of 4. Does this use the same mounts as a KA24 or are you guys not familiar at all with this engine. My manager at work said that hes seen quite a few hardbodies with sr20's and he said there are special mounts for them and can be found online somewhere but i dont know if it would be the same for this truck or not. Like i said before i would be posting in the truck forum but its dead.

Re: Not sure where to post this. SR swap
all trucks with the ka24 won't need special mounts if you wanna swap the sr20 but i don't know about the z24 whatsoever. i would assume that the mounts would be fine but something tells me they won't be. the best thing to do is to actually do the swap and buy/fabricate some mounts if you have to.
it sounds like an awesome idea though. i love lowrider trucks and lowriders with a 2.0t are even better good luck with it

Re: Not sure where to post this. SR swap
BTW the rear end of a truck is a solid axle, thus the hubs wont work. Also the mounts from the KA swap to the SR.... I think. Do a little research or just try it. The SR swap should be about as difficult as the swap into the 89-90.
