97 Lincoln Continental A/C
Can anyone describe how to get to the low pressure recharge valve on a 97 Lincoln Continental and can you tell me if the system is R-134a?
Thanks in advance. |

Re: 97 Lincoln Continental A/C
The "low side" is between the compressor and the drier. The "high side" valve is between the compressor and the condensor core (in front of the radiator).
It IS R-134A

The low side port is on the passenger side of the car very close to the firewall and it has a black cap on it. It's kind of hidden.....but on the top side of the car.

Re: 97 Lincoln Continental A/C
THANKS! That's very helpful. I'm having a tech that I know look at it this weekend. He seems to think that the seals are not sealing and he said he's going to put some kind of conditioner in that "blows up" the seals... we'll see - hopefully that will take care of it. The last garage that looked at it said that it would take an evaporator core and it was going to be over $1200 to replace it... I figure I can recharge a LOT of times for $1200 bucks on a car with this many miles (115,000).
Thanks for everyone's help! - Ted |
