Clear Cases-Side Window Cases pics - 56k warning

Anyone with clear side window cases. Would love to see what others have done. I bought this case but failed to realized that the side window was not clear or blue. It was amber/green. It did not allow me to see the blue interior colors of the cables. So I tried contacting the company to see if they sell individual parts, but never got a reply. So I decided to take action and do my own modification.

As you can see, the amber/green window really does not make any interior cable glow other than green.

So I took out the pins that hold the window to the frame as well as the air duct.

I bought some lexan at Home Depot and traced the window on it and cut it. (It wasn't easy, since I never cut lexan before, but it came out better than I expected.)

After drilling the necessary holes, I put the pins back and attached the air duct to the window and placed it back on the frame.

I put it back on the pc and its much more clearer.

Final view..

Oh btw, I love my X-Connect powersupply. With its mirror like shiny finished and modular design, I love it.

So, does anyone else have clear sided PC pictures. Post them up.

I had a black one tha had blue inside lights, then two lights that ran down the entire front but I didn't like it too much. Now here, is one that I like, for obvious reasons...

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...&sku=M115-1020

I just don't like monitors that have lights too much, hell I dont like lights in my room at all, it makes it hard for me to sleep because I like it to be pitch dark, so often I put tape over the lights, but for a computer I could rig up a toggle switch or something to turn them on/off. TS I do really like the way the inside of your computer looks with those lights too, but right now where mine is at that wouldn't really show much so I just got a plain ol' beige one.

Thanks for the compliment. The light kit in the pc does have a toggle switch so I can turn them off if I want too. Actually I looked at that same one you are thinking of getting from Tiger, but I decided on the current ones I got (Ultra). Shoot, that case would freak me out if I had it in my bedroom, it looks like an alien is staring at me.

BTW, I work from home two days out of the week so I have converted my basement with a few more pcs than usual. This is how I have my basement set up.

TS the inside of your computer reminds me of the blue opera singing lady from the movie The Fifth Element for some odd reason. All the cables look sweet with the blue light, and the green tube adds something to it.

Well, I got into case modding through simple stuff like changing LEDs and what not on the first computer I built. The second computer that I built for myself I wanted to take it furthur.

The first thing that had to be done is the wires inside need to be cleaned up for when I installed the window:

Here is what it looked like before:

Here is what it looked like after:

I had already changed the red and amber LEDs for blue and white LEDs. That was the first thing I did when I built the system:

The case needed to be painted, I couldn't stand the beige anymore. However, I needed to cut the hole for the window first using a jigsaw and some metal cutting bits:

After that I painted it gun metal blue:

However, I got bored with that case. I ended up selling most of the components inside and upgraded the system. New system means a new case. Here is what it looked like when I was done:

My mods include:

Plexiglass window.
Thundercats decal.
92mm white LED fan.
Dual 80mm blue LED fans.
Cooler Master blue LED northbridge cooler.
Gigabyte blue LED HSF.
Rounded cables.
Blue power LED.
Ultrabright white HDD LED.

Re: Clear Cases-Side Window Cases pics - 56k warning

I got the same as skater in ny, the raidmax cobra. I has green sound reactive cold cathodes though, round IDE cables, and, no offense but the case is a lot cleaner. Got some green wire loom sleeving but havent had time to put it on. Mine as well wait for a better PSU. I love mine though. Maybe I can get some pics up. I'll see.
