1999 Grand Cherokee Air Bag Light
For the past few days, my air bag light will come on for a few minutes then go out. Its random and sometimes its frequent and sometimes not at all. Any suggestions?

Try checking ALL of the connectors associated with the air-bag system. A hairline crack will let moisture in and cause your problem.

Mine does too while I'm driving. The annoying chimes come on to every once in awhile. I read on some Chrysler vans people who had this problem were told that to check their air bag sensor fuse. It's going off to warn you there is something wrong with the system. I have two fuses related to the air bag (I guess one for the driver side and one for the passenger?) Anyway, unlike all of the other fuses, they have a protective yellow cap over both fuses. If I pull the fuses out to check, my air bags won't deploy, I hope.

Re: 1999 Grand Cherokee Air Bag Light
It's been posted before, it's most likely the clockspring mechanism going bad, located within the air bag system, i.e., the light coming on and the chiming of the bells.
