81 Supra 5ME

My husband and I just recieved a 81 Toyota Supra with inline 6 5 ME.

We have few problems we haven't been able to find help with.

First off the converters were clogged, Got one cat off and other still on until can get some parts

The rely to fuel pump was bad and replaced that..

Car won't go over 4000 RPM's Thought at first may be the throatle positioning sensor but have replaced it and still having problems. We are thinking could be O2 Sensor. or the converter that is still on is still restricting enough to cause the trouble.

Can have car floored but won't go over the 4000 PRM

Second problem having is it keeps dumping oil in to the runners. We thinking may be the PCV But unable to locate it. Have an Ciltion Book but it doesn't give any thing on PCV.

Also have called toyota Dealership to see if they have any idea's but they didn't know anything.. they argued with us about it having an EFI. Saying they didn't have them back then.

We also looking for information on how to read trouble codes.

Car has good compression and runs good.. Took it out on longer drive to see how it do and got 26 MPG

Any help would be nice.. you can email us at [email protected]

Thanks,
Rick and Mel
