motors for my 81
what motor should i put in my 81 t/a, should i keep the stock 301 and try to get some performance out of it for originality, or put the 6.6 or 455 in it, where would i find either of those 2 motors. and would it be hard to do?

forget the 301. parts are to expensive in comparison to the 400. same with the 455, getting harder to find and parts are more expensive. you get the best bang for your buck out of a 400 Pontiac. You can find them at junkyards as well online from different sources as well as ebay. cause all Pontiac engines will fit into your engine bay without any mods. just get the correct engine mounts. depending on the transmission you are using you might have to get a new crossmember for the tranny. 400 pontiacs usually had a TH400 behind them, you can also use a TH350 but it might wear out faster. |

I'm not sure where your located, but I have a car with a professionally rebuilt Pontiac 400 that I've been trying to sell for a while now. I am located in south Florida if you're interested or don't laready have one lined up.
