backup sensors

hello all. we have a 2001 windstar LX, that is actually equipped with the backup sensor feature, but it does not work. the dealer told us that he would not investigate this as it could be something minor or major. any ideas as to where to look first would be appreciated, exept for the manual as we are waiting for ours to arrive, thanks, wayne

Re: backup sensors

I guess this is the "parking aid" in the electric diagrams?? It's a bit of involved circuitry.

I don't know anything about it, but you might try fuse #10 in the box near the driver's left foot. Apparently the tractcontrol and the parking-aid share the same on-off switch.

If you intend to do your own work, you may want to get an authentic elect diagram for your model.
