axle shaft removal.

I need to pull the passenger axle out of my 2000 windstar. After I pull everything off, steering knuckle, etc, should the shaft just pull out of the trans, or is there some kind of clip that I need to remove inside the trans?
I'm thinking I just need to pry between the cv joint and the trans and it should pop out.

Your are correct! The clip is inside the tranny ... on the shaft itself ... don't worry, it will come out with the shaft. Pry away!
