hello
hey there, i'm new to Eclipse forum.
I have 18 years old, from canada. i'm about to buy my 1st car, and I was thinking about a 3000gt, but they are too expensive here, so I moved to eclipse and I had few questions... is the car reliable and good as a 1st car ? i'm talking about 1997 RS, I want style, and also, the AWD are hard to find and more expensive. well finally I had only 1 question thanks |

Re: hello
As for the choice I would have to say eclipses are better than the 3000gt's.
With the 97 rs you would deffinately have style... as for reliability.. as with any car/truck reliability boils down to mostly the previous owner...but other than that eclipses are great cars!! The frontend crash test rating is pretty good....I would have to say most problems people have is from stuff they had tried to do as for mods and somehow fubar'd it!! lmao oops You could get a gs-t which is FWD and turbo ![]() If you eventually want to start "modding" your car for performance I would suggest now at looking to find a turbo model.. ie: gs-t, gsx, talon tsi... I would have to say that there are quite a few DSM'rs that have the rs or gs models and now wish they had got a turbo'd model...

Re: hello
yes thank you for the infos, like I said, AWD like the GSX are more expensive and rare in my location...so i'll go for the cheaper price I see, and yeah, stock
the mods i'll make will be more esthetic than performance, in 3 years i'm heading for the Subaru WRX, so I wont waste in eclipse performance, so the RS is perfect for me
