upper intake manifold

trying to replace #2 injector, and I'm having trouble getting the upper intake manifold off. Do you have to take off the throttle body off also, having trouble separating the two. Any guidance into the job will be "GREATLY APPRECIATED". Thank You all in advance!

You should take apart the air box the maf sensor, air feed tube and throttle body assembly( you don't have to remove it from the upper intake). Because there is a bracket that holds the coolant line running to the throttle body and intake, it's way under the throttle body. It's a PIA but is doable, just loosen the nuts the bracket should slide off one way or the other. Or worst case you may have to remove the front valve cover, so you can remove the coolant tube running accross the front of the engine so you can lift the top intake enough to get at the nuts. Depends how badly corrodeed they are and how lucky you are at removing them. Go slow, everthing is aluminum, and breaks real easy.

Thanks Again, I was successful, and the SES light has gone off, and the car is running fine. Removing the rail was a little trying, but I pryed carefully. Using the vasiline was a great tip, for anyone else replacing injectors, follow the previous threads on this forums, and you should be good to go!
