Best Sounding Muffler for Eclipse RS

I have the 420A equipped NA Eclipse '98. There are some huge plans for it, but I need to do it in steps since I am still paying for College. I've got the suspension done, so the next step is exhaust and the head.

I know it's impossible to get the V8 muscle car rumble from a 4cyl, but I absolutely hate that ricey "fart can" noise. I'm custom fabing a dual 3'' exhaust, so I just need your oppinions as far as mufflers. I've always been a fan of Apex Integrations, but I've been sticking with Tanabe in hopes of getting a sponsorship. What's the best Tanabe muffler for getting that low rumbling sound? Thanks!

P.S. I'm getting Stage II Crane Cams... So that should help out with the sound.

Guess what!

Just kidding about the Crane cams. I'm actually getting Crower Stage II Cams.

Busy huh?

lol Maybe most of the people using this forum are students... It's finals time! That could be why nobody's replying to this thread. Oh well... Comment after finals, when everybody's tanked.

Remus. Make sure you get the one designed for our cars though because their universal twin tips don't fit. A single tip universal will work though. Seriously these mufflers sound badass and look stock so cops don't give you a hard time.

Which of the Tanabe mufflers do you think sound the best? Are they "ricey" sounding (fart cans), or do they actually have a bit of a deep rumble to them?

Also, I'm making a completely custom exhaust, so I could theoretically make anything fit. (I'm fabing a header which will direct two cylinders to each pipe of a dual exhaust... and an H-pipe to connect the two so exhaust pressure is a little more even.)

Thanks for the input!

Tanabe's look farter but there is one that looks pretty nice. Its called the Hyper Medallion or something like that, also sounds really nice.

Re: Best Sounding Muffler for Eclipse RS

Perfect. Thanks again!

Today I heard an APEXi N1 muffler on a 2G eclipse. If this is the same guy I've seen around campus before... it sounds better with the silencer in. lol I think the Hyper Medallion muffler has a silencer that comes with it... so that's perfect thanks!
