1986 Seville ... I have a ht 4100 v8 thats running hot
I need some advice .... Ive changed coolant ... ripped out the radiator and had it dipped in chemicals ... changed thermostats ... and have done other things and it is still running hot. The coolant temp is hanging around 230-240 after a good drive in warm weather. I have heard bad things about the ht 4100 v8 and I was wondering if this is a normal occurance.

Are electric fans running? I had to by-pass the fan sensor with remote wired toggle switches to make sure the fans were running. Did you do a compression test? Are you losing any coolant? Do you have a good thermostat and rad cap?

Re: 1986 Seville ... I have a ht 4100 v8 thats running hot
I had that problem with my 88 seville with a 4.5 motor and I noticed that the fan was turning real slow instead of fast. You could possibly have the same problem, you might want to check and see.I changed the sensor that controls the radiator fan.
