Sunroof problems....

I have had some problems with my sunroof on my 1999 Pontiac Sunfire GT. It seems that most of the time it won't open all the way except for when it is very warm outside. and sometimes won't close all the way either. I found someone on the internet with a similar problem (I don't have the link at the moment, but will post it when I find it.) and they took the headliner out and found that the the motor wasn't screwed in tight enough and because of the slack, it would cause problems with opening and closing. I thought it might be the same cause of my sunroof problem, but it turns out it isn't. What might cause this to happen and how can I fix it?
