RB25 factory is rated at 225hp but in reality they are closer to 230hp from the one's I've seen.

RB26 factory is rated at 275hp but in reality are closer to 300hp.

Both have the same bore size, which mean the RB26 has a slighly longer stroke. That is where the simularities end. The RB26 comes with a much better head, better cams, stronger crank, stronger pistons, rods, much stronger block and support craddle, better oil pump, and water pump, intake plenum, etc. It is also capable of making much more reliable hp, more hp, and is over 2x as expensive.

Na believe it or not I miss my old R32 GTS-t. I had heaps of fun in that car and the running costs were like next to nil other than the 4 gearboxes i destroyed in one year lol.

In all fairness I posted that at 5am and was half awake, thinking the 20 was a 26 lol.

head to head... the 25 is the better engine. No questions... more displacement, more torque, newer, etc...

However from a cost to HP perspective... I think in the US right now, the 20 is the better option. $1500 for the 20 front clip vs. $3500 for the 25 front clip.

You can make 300 to 400 hp with the 20 and $2000 in upgrades.
($300 t3/t04e turbo, $400 highbred FMIC, $150 Z32 MAF, $500 for 550cc injectors, $100 downpipe, $250 for SAFC2, $100 Walbro fuel pump, and $200 boost controller should about do it.)

That's just my two cents.

Besides.. the 20 is easier to put into a 240sx. No mount kit, or custom driveshaft required.
