Re: 98 engine swap

if you use the 98 intake manifold/fuel rail/throttle body, you shoudn't have any problems

it will work if you take the intake maifold and the fuelrail and possibly the throttle body off the 98 and put it on your 96 motor. All the wires should plug right in. Im doin the same type of thing but im rebuilding a 98 motor and putting it a 96 car.

i now have a 98 saturn with 164,000 mile with a 96 motor with 117,000 the motor was bought complet you doo have to chage the intake manifold oil pressure sending unit and you can not use a 96 alternator you have to use the 98 the plug is differant. i got the motor from a u-pull- it. for 130 dallars . the guy that i got it from was going to junk it so i paid 125 for the car . the car had a thrown rod. then he cut all the front light wires , the fan wires and took all the bulbs . took out the whole exhust from the bottom of the manifold all the way back. ( got that replaced for 50 dollars ) . now the car is complete . going to sell for 2000 dollar in the paper .. everything works great
