hey.. im kinda new here.. im 16 i have a 69caprice.. with a low compression 79 chevy 350 motor.. pretty much give or take a few addons like intake carb.. anyway my question is this.. is there any superchargers that more on the low end of power give maybe a gain of 75 to 125 hp.. that are under a 1k.. just sum xtra power to cut the tires loose.. cu my car is heavy and 79chevy motors from factory had 170 hp
.. any help on idea of what i should do would be reallly helpfulidealy id like to have 270hp

270 HP from a small block is easily obtainable. I would recommend a top end rebuild with a little beafier cam and a better carb. head rebuild $600 (including deck, port, and polish), new intake, $150, nice cam $150. Should keep you around the 1k mark. Anytime you add just boost to a motor you usually should have a strong bottom end.

I agree. Superchargers are more of an expensive specialty item.
So long as your engine is sound, that is its not burning oil and making strange noises, 270 hp is easy, as Random says. If you don't feel up to selecting your own parts, companies like Edelbrock have matched sets of intake and exhaust partswhich takes the guesswork out of which performance parts to use. |
