no radio/No battery gauge

Something happened tot my raio, it died, then came back but would start changing the channel on it's own. Ok it's no possessed I hope?

Now I changed out the fuses MANY TIMES, they continue to blow like there is something on. No interior lights no radio and no charging guage.

I broke down and bought a radio for the wifes caravan and switched hers into my van. Now
I get a click but no sound. Have checked the connections again and again but still get the click and no sound. It does light with the rest of the dash cluster.

Mine van is a 92 hers a 97, is it just the radio or a wiring harness?

Really getting tired of singing to myself...please help!

Re: no radio/No battery gauge

Is this an aftermarket radio? Make sure the ground wire is hooked up correctly and that you aren't feeding power to the ground thus blowing a fuse.

no, it's a stock am/fm cassette radio from my wifes 97 caravan, I just tried to put it in my 92.

I just unplugged the old one and plugged in the new one.

Seems odd though that the charging guage doesn't work either.

Think I blew up some of the electrical somewhere?

Re: no radio/No battery gauge

sounds like a power wire is shorted to ground. My suggestion to you would be to (if you want) start looking behind the dash and see if there are any wires that are rubbing against metal parts on the body, that sounds like your problem.

I'll give it a try. The lack of sound makes me buggy.

Thanks for your help!!
