Unhappy 1992 Grand Marquis losing power

When driving my Grand Marquis the other day it started to lose power. We were about 2 miles from home when these things started to occur.
The defroster fan barely blew, fan was very slow. The signals dimmed and clicked very slowly, clock stopped working. The check engine light did come on. We made it home, but it felt like it would have just cut out entirely at any moment. We were minutes from the house by this time.

We are thinking alternator, any other clues or suggestions to diagnose?

1992 Grand Marquis
4.6 litre engine.
Thanks for your help.
