$$$

Just curious about how much money everyone has invested in their cars. This is for performance and apprearence mods only. Don't include wreck repairs.

Re: $$$

I'm also planning on throwing a ws6 hood on my camaro, 18" Z06 rims, & new paint job & sound system so that should bump it up a few $$$$

Re: $$$

bought the IROC for 2300, and spent close to 4000 just getting her leagal on the street thanks to the prior owner being from arkansas. lol.

i wont even bring up the RS, i think the only money i spent on her was for repairs from wrecks lol. initial price was 3000 though. oh oh oh i did spend 145 bucks for a torsen rear with 3.27 gears that never got installed, does that count??

Another question, what were the first couple of mods that you first bought for your cars?

Re: $$$

first for both were cat back exhausts. they are no brainers, improove sound, and looks. the IROC also got a set of headers. Wait no i lied, the first mod to the IROC was a bulletproof 700R4, the tranny crapped out on me as soon as i got her home, so i had my trans guy build me up a replacement with a full B&M transkit, stage 2 shift kit, corvette first - second servo, and a 2600 stall converter with a kevlar lockup clutch. exhaust upgrades came later.

So, do you think that a CAI and Loudmouths would be a good place to start on my car? I don't really plan on doing a whole lot with it though...unless I win the lottery.

well this is gonna hurt..

my 91 Z costed $9100.. First thing I did was the custom paint and shaved handles it only costed me about $1200 because I did most of the work myself.. my guages costed me about $80 to make.. Next was Z06 wheels - $800, 3" aluminum wheel spacers - $300, rubber - $800
spent about 1750 in upgrades including built tranny, exhaust, intake, and 3.73 true posi rear end..

so about $14,000 man.. ive never added that up before..
Plus im rebuilding the engine while its parked this winter.. who knows how much that'l end up costing

Re: $$$

cold air induction and catback are great starting places, and a foundation for any other mods in the future. i think just about everyone here has done that without even thinking about it lol, thats probly why it wasnt mentioned.
