Keyless Entry Questions

Hi I purchased a 2001 Isuzu Rodeo Sport a few months ago and I was curious if all newer Rodeos were equiped with the Keyless Entry System? If they are how would I know if I have one?

And If I don't have one is it possible to go to a scrap yard and purchase the system and remote and install it into my Rodeo? Where is the part located at in the car?(door, side-panel, dash?)

Thank you in advance for your help.
Brian

Re: Keyless Entry Questions

If you have power windows, then you most likely have the alarm system (check your hood for an alarm pin).

I you don't have a remote you can purchase one from ebay.

I just checked the hood and there is no alarm pin on it? I do have power windows/locks and an alarm system. Do you know where the keyless entry system is located at? If not do you know if it is possible to install a used one in my Rodeo from another Rodeo from a scrap yard?
Thanks

Its usually pretty easy to install factory options that were left off your vehicle. To cut costs they build all cars pretty much the same and add the options later.

I once added power steering to a 94 Saturn I owned. All I had to do was buy a power steering pump, hoses and the power rack and pinion and bolt it up. One of the easiest things I'd ever done to a car.

Doesn't the alarm system automaticly go on? My Rodeo has a red light blinking when the call is locked. And if someone tries is break in the alarm goes off. I found out about this, I had my windows open and I was ouside of the car and the doors were locked. So I reached my hand through the window and unlocked the locks and an alarm went off. I had to get the key and turn the door lock to shut off the alarm.

Re: Keyless Entry Questions

Sounds like all you need is the remote and some programming.
