Drivers Power Window 1994 Lesabre

Can't find any other threads with the same problem so here goes. My 1994 drivers window is stuck in up position. Use of the switch produces some clicking sounds but no movement. I was told there was some runout sensor problem that has the switch thinking the window is fully down thus will not go down, only up. I worked my way through removing the entire panel just to see what i could see. I ended up removing the motor, manually pushing the window down (the switching thinks it is down right?) then reinstalling the motor. Lo and behold it worked! The window went up and down several times. Got it all put back together and you can guess - it got stuck in the up position again! Anyone know what's really going on? Should I try replacing the relay box? Thanks for any help.
