1989 Camaro.. Rusted water pump?
I was looking under the hood of my aunt's 1989 Camaro looking for the horn to reconnect it (relay got stuck). I noticed that the part on the front of the engine right behind the fan (I guess the water pump. It has an electric fan) is rusted. This appears to be one of the only parts on the engine rusted. Could this possibly lead to anything bad in the future?
Engine is a V8 305 Just wanted to know. Thanks in Advance! ![]() I'll try to upload a picture tomorrow. |

Re: 1989 Camaro.. Rusted water pump?
mine was rusted to hell when i removed it, but it still worked and was leak free. I'm sure it'll be ok but will eventually need replacement, you could do it now for peace of mind and avoidance of a failure that could leave you stranded.
