dyno max cat back ordering
ok well my exhaust is fried sounded bad and i look up at the muffler i can finger it rusted out so badly so i'm in need of a exhaust now.
I'd really like to do a full catback least muffler back I have heard the jeep doesn't really see much gains but sounds more badass but thats ok sounds like poo now lol. I went to www.jegs.com they list the 93 cherokee 3 times i'm not sure what part # to order just for referance my XJ is a 93 cherokee sport 4L auto. also anyone know a place for a cheapie intake i dont want to pay alot and all the ebay ones are like 50 for shipping and i rather upgrade then replace my dusty filter. Plugs and wires I asume NKG is the best? Its that way for my other rides. Also any things that are free to do to get better mileage or little more umph? i do love this truck its just my back up / winter ride so i want to keep it on a low budget. Thanks a ton! PS i quit the idea of lowering it *even though i just wanted 2"s lol* i'm sure the jeep gods are pleased |

DynoMax catback system; turbo muffler, mandrel bent tail pipe w/nice brushed stainless tip welded on. Just put this in my '00 Cherokee w/the 4.0L and it sounds real nice.... mellow burble at idle and no booming inside..... Summit Racing has 'em for about $125 with free UPS Gnd shipping (limited time). An inline six ain't no way gonna sound "bad ass" unless maybe it's got the initials BMW....
Cheapie intake: go to the nearest junk yard, snag a stock box and enlarge the intake hole (Even cheaper, modify your existing box). Easy to do and the box will run you $20-30 at the local salvage. Slip in a K&N filter and you're probably not far off the "improvements" offered by the aftermarket stuff (no way I'd pay $200+ for a plastic tube and a cotton gauze cone filter) Plugs and wires.... whatever makes you feel good. Me, myself and I like to go with the factory plugs.... figure the engineers chose that plug for good all around performance and emissions. Wires.... I'd shoot for "spiral core" wires.... lower resistance than carbon core wires = hotter spark. Better gas mileage: drain the diffs of the dino lube and go with pure synthetic (*expensive*... like $14-15 a qt.). Synthetic "blend" is ad hype just to get a few more bucks out of you. Use Synthetic Dexron III in the transfer case (or whatever it requires). Clean the fuel injectors: have it done professionally or try it yourself using massive doses of Chevron's Techron ($9/bottle for the 20Gal treatment).... double the dosage or half or quarter the fuel level (put a 20Gal treatment in a half tank or less of gas). ... Oh, you said "free".... doh.... drive with the windows up. Remove that stupid luggage rack or at least the cross bars.... hard to get somethin' for nothin'....... Good luck, Mike |

remove the silencer cone inside the air box, take the hose off the box and pry the round piece of plastic of and sh$t can it. Said to give .4-.6 mpg more. And it is free.
