97 lumina Steering play
i am facing a problem while i drive above 50mph....there is a play in my steering - arround 1 inch.
couple of months ago, i have changed one of the tie rod (front piece)... any suggesions?....anything i should check?... thanks and best regards |

Tire pressure, tie rods (inner and outer), control arm bushings, steering rack mounts.
Mine slides around on the highway a bit, I see a lower control arm bushing that appears to be falling apart, I think that's the cause...

![]() the first problem, when i was check the wheels, was that one of my front wheel had two loose bolts...which i have fixed. i wonder how they got loose this way....anyway, its lot better now, but, i still have to check the play in the steering according to your checkpoints and post afterwords. thanks again for your help.
