Put a diaper on it
The last time I had a significant oil leak fixed it took me six times back and forth to the dealer before they found the leak. That was back in '98 and my '94 Cherokee was four years old. Now my 2000 is starting to develop an oil leak and I do not want the hit and miss method of finding it. I will ask them to use die in the oil to find the leak, but am strongly considering having them change every oil gasket on it including the main seal so I will only need to make one trip. How many gaskets are on the 4.0L engine? Knowing this will help me decide if I want to do a complete gasket replacement, or just put a diaper on the engine if they send it back to me still leaking the first try.
