98 Saturn SL1

Accessory belt needs tightening... I was told it was the pully between the crank and alternator. (spring loaded) SO all I had to do was back it off. I did and it still doesnt tighten... The pully does pivot..

replace the belt??? or ??

start by replacing the belt, if that doesn't help, the tensioner may need replaced.

i just had to replace the tensioner, its not that hard. if u get a new one it should tightin.

did u have the same problem as me? and how much did it cost? is it just unblot and then bolt in the new pully?
