speaker sizes

i know the stock front speakers are 4", does anyone know how to put a 6.5" speaker in there? could i simply take out the speaker and the bose amp? or does other work need to be done
has anyone done this yet?

im sure its possible but you would have to cut the bose plastic box. i have a 5 1/4" in it and i didnt have to cut out much. or you could make a speaker pod that mounts to the door. the door has 4 screws which mounts a abs plastic box with a vent the box is air tight and screwed together with about 20 machine screws. also the bose amp is inside the box. to run anyother speaker without using the bose system you will need to take the box apart. i would try to cutout the extra plastic so it will fit a 6 1/2 just make sure the speaker will fire threw the grill on the door panel. also that the grill on the door panel doesnt prevent the speaker from moving when put back on the door.
