New Here
Well, this is my first import car so I'll start from the top. I needed a cheap car to drive since I had lost my job and couldnt afford my truck anymore. So luck came by me as my cousin who had a ZC turbo, decided to switch over to a B18C and had bought and 89 CRX with the complete swap. After we took the motor out I asked him if he would sell the car to me for $100. He said fine. Now all I needed was a motor so I asked his brother who is doing a ZC turbo swap to his 91 CRX if I could buy his Si motor for $80. Well now I have an 89 CRX with an Si motor. I am still buying parts for the car but so far I have bought a Z6 Vtec head for the Mini-Me swap ($200) an Apexi Vtec controller ($250) adjustable cam gear ($65) and an Si tranny with a stage 2 clutch ($150). I still need the wiring harnesses and exhaust but I have no clue what to get for the exhaust, any suggestions? Also I have heard with doing the Mini-Me swap I will have a high compression, making it very tough to run forced induction, anyone know of pistions I can use to lower it? I can't think of much more but would aprreciate some help. Thanks

Re: New Here
Since your car is MPFI, the wiring wont be really hard.. I would sugguest selling the vtec controller and buying a obd1 ecu-p28 5spd one, and getting a obd0-->obd1 conversion harness and converting to obd1. Also the head will raise compression higer. When you buy the headgasket get a thicker one than oem, that should help a little.

Cool, thanks for the help. I heard of getting a thicker head gasket but I heard getting different pistons would lower it also, although I am not sure which ones I would get. About converting to obd-1 I do plan on doing that but I need some cash to get it done first.
Thanks again |
