You could have fried the subs or the amp. Most amps will still power up when they're fried. Make sure to recheck all connections.

If the ground wire is removed often the power light will remain on, but wont have power to actually work,
check your wiring to make sure you hooked up ground to body, and + to battery.
My buddy had a problem where the shop he took his amp to said that the amp was wired wrong from the factory with + and ground switched internally (I doubted there conclusion)
Check your cd player fuse, but if it is still working I doubt you messed it up at all,
Remote wire could be to blame re-check this connection.
The way I would check to see if you fried the amp is pull it from the car, jumper new wires to +, ground, and remote, hook up different sub.
Change the whole set-up going to and from the amp. if you dont get power from it, obviously the amp is to blame.

This is easy to do if you have a buddy with a nice working system also hooked up, just pull his amp wires, hook them up to yours, and see if his system is working.

Yea your RCA outputs could be fried..... smell your amp see if it stanks if so its forshore bad..... if is smells good it could still be messed up but you'd need to open it up or have a multimeter....... to check the subs just push the middle of the cones you'll be able to tell if they're blown.

be careful that your grounds are good on power amp, if the ground becomes insufficient - it may try and use the RCA sheilds as a ground. This will of course most likely damage the preamp output satge of the next unit upstream in the signal path (eq, xover, headunit, etc ...)
