*help* Power Window Problemas.

I have a 96 civic cpe with power windows. The other night, it was a very cold night i let my windows down. When i got home i pushed the button to make it go up, and the right window would go to an angle and not close completly. From inside the car if you are looking directly towards it, the right side comes up more then the left side. I try to angle it in such a way that it comes up normal..but when i make it go down again it goes crooked again when i try to make it go up. If you might have an idea of what my problem is please tell. And if you have a solution please tell.

Thank you

Your window might have came out of track. All you gotta do is open the door panel and retrack it, not hard, quite simple really.

Re: *help* Power Window Problemas.

i had a 96 ex coupe with the same problem. i bought the car used in 00 and checked over the service records from the dealership and it had 3 times been brought in for window related problems on the drivers door. the internals were all changed on the last visit before trade. in the 3 years i owned the car the window came off track at a pace of 1 or 2 times a month if not more.

th window will cock at a weird angle and it does involve taking off the door panel. first thing is pop off the speaker grill and remove the 3 or 4 screws holding the speaker in(these are usually the recessed ones that are a bitch to get at.) then take the speaker out, rolll you window all the way down so as not to chip or scratch your tint if applicable.

remove your door handle cover and the power window/door lock controls on the arm rest(one screw apiece secures these) take a panel puller or a flat head screw driver slide it under the door and pop the bottom and sides off cause the top has no clips. once all the clips are released just raise the door panel up and back it should come off after that.

there should be a track behind that plastic crap in the bottom right hand corner of the door. put your window back in track( you can feel it go back into the groove.) hook up your handle and make sure the window goes all the way up and then roll it back down. put your panel back on making sure to re-align the door panel right. clip the panel back in . re hook up and screw in your speaker. re place your door handle cover and window/ door lock control and then put the speaker grill back on. the window should still roll up and operate normally. expect this problem to persist pretty often.

this was the ultimate reason why i sold my 96 civic after such a short time. you get caught in to many thunderstorms with a non working window and the straw will finally break the camels back
