Box for sub? Amp work w/ sub? Newbie Q's again
Ok, so in that other thread you guys were barking at me to not get MTX subs.
So would this setup work: Atlas 15 w/ this phoenix gold amp: http://www.cardomain.com/item/PHOR501 and w/ this head unit: http://www.cardomain.com/item/PIODEHP6700MP Then if that does work where is a link to online where I can buy a box that would fit the Atlas 15? Would this work? http://www.cardomain.com/item/QLCQLH15015SE Please, do not tell me you will bulid me one either. Nothing against any of you, but if I am buying one its gotta be in "real life" at a store or from a company online. |

Re: Box for sub? Amp work w/ sub? Newbie Q's again
I don't really have the experience to advise you on the amps or head unit (just look at what I have
), but I think that box is gonna be way too small. My box is in the middle of the range of volumes for my sub, and I think most people would agree that going at or below the minimum volume recommended for the sub significantly reduces it's output and efficiency. I don't know the specs for the Atlas 15, but I'd think it'd be a bit bigger than 1.5 cu.ft.

Re: Box for sub? Amp work w/ sub? Newbie Q's again
Ok, heres my $.02....80 bucks for a box, I built mine for 27.60 And that included the plans from NG. I don't know if 5/8" MDF is gonna cut it with a atlas 15, im not very familiar with the sub, but I am not sure if that box is thick enough, I would make it out of 3/4" MDF
As with Dice, I don't have enough knowledge to advise with the head unit or amp either.... Later -Ryan |

I'd build a box, but I have no acess to any type of building tools. H*ll, I don't even really know how to work much but a screwdriver and hammer. I don't really want to buy that box at all, thats why I was asking for suggestions on here.
Thanks for the advice, Kyle |

you might try going to a local audio shop and seeing how much it would take to have them make you a box...

Re: Box for sub? Amp work w/ sub? Newbie Q's again
Where are you located? If your anywhere close to here I can help you build a box. The head unit is fine you'll be happy with it. The sub is great. As far as the amp goes I would get this http://www.cardomain.com/item/PHOX4001?ref=deal over the other one so that you can full power it and have a little headroom instead of under power it.
