93 Honda Accord gear position indicator light stuck in "P"

Hello, Whenever I shift (automatic xmission) from Park to Neutral, Drive, Reverse etc... the gear position indicator light stays in park on the dashboard. How do I resolve this? Thank you for any advice.

Sounds like you have a gear position slider switch problem. You need to remove the center console cover (4 screws). You will see the switch on the left side of the gear shift lever. The slider should move when you move the gear shift lever. Tell us what you find.

The light doesn't emit any longer, but I took the console cover off to check out the gear shift lever and it does move when I shift.

You mean it all works as it should and all the lights light when you select the appropiate positon.
