95 Sub Horn Issue

My horn will just start beeping without any human help. It works if I push it. Could a cable be loose or wire short?

Re: 95 Sub Horn Issue

Hi,
please post your model / year.
Do you have the keyless entry? How does it beep, and how does that stop?
Take care, Eggert

1995 1500 v8. No keyless entry. "How does it beep" A steady on and off about 5 seconds in duration. I have folded paper stuffed in between the steering wheel and the airbag. This appeas to be working. Also, it happens at no constant pattern.

There is a spring under the center cap on the steering wheel, just bend it out a bit.

Re: 95 Sub Horn Issue

Hi,
it is time to check the wiring, especially the steering wheel contact. Be aware of the airbag system. There is a whole bunch of things to do to protect the electronics and to keep the airbag from blowing up. This is not a casual do it yourself setup. I vote for the dealer to check this out because of the airbag system.
Take care, Eggert
