Question What is your opinion?

I was wondering what you guy think. Ok i have my 89 iroc and i want to fix it up but i just found out about another 89 iroc thats for sale. It has a 91 Formula 350 in it and it is a 5 speed. The guy blew a head on it and is the middle of fixing it. It has minor surface rust also. Other than that all it needs is a paint job. He is asking $2,000 for it. Should I paint mine or get this other and slowly fix'em both up?

Well imo, I'd say possible grab the other one, and do engine-transplant int oyours along with everything else, and sell the rest for parts. =)

Often times engine transplants are hack jobs. Stuff is mismatched or not hooked up properly. Only you can determine if this is the case with the other car. Unless it's in worse condition I'd keep the one with the original motor. Only get both if you really have the time and $$ to devote to them.

Re: What is your opinion?

damn maybe if it was a different type of camaro i would say get the other one and keep yours but they are the same car with just different engines. you can always build your engine up the way u want it

Re: What is your opinion?

I agree with almoststock... its a bad idea to buy vehicles that have had major changes like that.. You never know what your getting.. Especially if the car isnt running.. Also, The T5 5speeds dont last long behind a 350, especially if its been driven hard, in this case, it probably has..

Also, $2000 is WAY to much for a 16 year old camaro with a blown head/possibly disassembled engine, and with rust..

You invest that $2000 into your car and you'l have a mean ride
