I have a 96' Honda Accord EX and fan would constantly run even after the car was off, after having the transmission flushed and some other things done they said they fixed the problem with the fans. Well the fans no longer run at all, i was under the impression that at least one had to run to keep the engine from overheating. Now the engine is leaking what appears to be oil. They said that there was a really bad oil leak b4 i took it to them but i would think that it would have at least run low or even out of oil since it hasnt been changed since January.

Re: Radiator Fans
One way to make the fans not run at all is to pull the fuse. Maybe that is what they did. The fans do not run all the time but only when the coolant reaches at certain temp, about 195 degs and when the air conditioner is on. Most likely the fan will run for a few minutes after you turn off the engine. (it is not on the ignition switch, so it will run any time it needs to). What else did they do? I am interested? Engine or transmission or steering?

i think they replaced the water pump and timing belt i guess and a few other things im not sure of. The fan used to run after the car was turned off but now it doesnt run at all. I just know im getting a weird smell and it doesnt smell like oil burning cause i had that problem b4 with an oil filter.

Re: Radiator Fans
Check the fuse. It is in the engine compartment on the right side near the firewall. I think.
