Question 95 4.6 TBird vs. 03 SS Monte..

Who would win that, both bone stock. I was reading about monte carlo's and stock they are overweight..like my tbird. The only advantage i'd have is RWD. I believe the ss motor has 210hp/240torque and my v8 has 205hp/265torque...both BASE hp/tq..not wheel hp/tq.

Wouldnt the fwd ss have more wheel torque..? I think i read somewhere that rwd loses more hp/torque to the wheels then a fwd car..or is it the other way around..?

PS, i'm always getting these montes with the "OMG i got a nascar bodied" gm owners if you know what i mean, always raving about there car. Even if i had a 12 second camaro, i wouldn't rave about it. Either on a roll, or 1/4...who'd win..? Both are A/T btw. Anyone know what them ss's top out at..? I'm guessing 120. My car could hit that if it didn't have a governor on it.

don't the '03 monte SS's have the series II supercharged engine with 240 hp? Correct me if I'm wrong.

Is the car a SS or SS supercharged? The supercharged ones are pretty quick. Stock for stock I am giving the slight edge to the monte. To my understanding it weighs less and has about the same specs. I looked at edmunds, he only weighs 100lbs less then you, and has 200hp and 225 torque. you win.

Agreed, if it's supercharged, you'll loose, especially if it's modded.

ehh the non supercharged Monte SS is good for a mid to high 15 second run. Same engine as the grand prix GT.

Talking ss monte's are quick!

I have a 1994 v8 cougar with usual bolt ons, full exhaust w/headers and a shift kit, and i still got beat by about 2 or 3 car lenghts in a race with a blown ss monte (2003), from about 20 mph to around 115 mph (my governor has been removed by a local dealer). i underestimated it, and it spanked me pretty good. the non supercharged ss monte's are easy pickins, though! peace.
